Devotees had a narrow escape in Nrusighanath temple of Gandhamardan hill range after heavy rain triggered heavy flow of water in 20 feet high Chaldhar waterfall on Tuesday.
While two devotees were injured and locals with help of fire brigade personnel rescued devotees downstream who had been washed away due to the high current of water. According to reports, members of three families from Bargarh and Loisingha in Balangir district were bathing in Chaldhar when the flow of water suddenly increased. In the process, Sangeeta Agrawal (33), her son Chinu Agrawal (11) of Bargarh and Swapna Agrawal of Loisingha were washed away downstream. Sangeeta fractured her leg.
Besides these three, Ranju Singhal, Rohit Singhal, Megha Singhal and Rahul Singhal of Bargarh were rescued by fire fighters.
