A woman in Sambalpur has given birth to conjoined twins in the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). The conjoined twin girls were born on Saturday, said reports. According to sources in the hospital, the twins have separate heads, but their bodies have been conjoined from neck downwards.
The girls are said to be in a critical health condition. Arrangements have been made to shift the twins to Burla Medical College. The parents of the twins are seeking help because they are financially unstable to handle the expenses, said sources.
The twins, born to Rabina Kumari, have separate heads but their bodies are conjoined from belly to neck. Doctor advised the parent to take the newborns to Burla or Cuttack for advanced treatment. Rabina’s husband is a “panipuri” vendor in Rengali. The parent are from Bihar and they settled in Rengali from the last 20 years.
Being poor, the parents cannot afford the advanced treatment. So they have appealed to the state government and the corporate sector for help.
