The State Government has decided to implement the Integrated Minerals and Mines Management System (i3MS) in coal sector for transparency.
“i3MS” is a online data verification and permit generation software for major minerals other than coal will now be implemented in the coal sector
to bring in greater transparency.” The i3MS would be extended to the other two circles, Sambalpur and Rourkela, by the end of November as said by
Steel & Mines Minister Rajani Kant Singh.
The i3MS is being implemented in handling other major minerals like iron ore and manganese which has yielded desirable results. Now, the online system of transaction and transport of coal under the i3MS will commence in the Talcher circle from October 16.
In order to curb illegal mining, 2D bar-coded e-passes are being issued, check-gates and weighbridges have been integrated and linked online and databases of all leases and licensees computerised and linked to i3MS software, Singh said, adding that transporters are being registered online.
