A country-made pistol has been recovered from inside a classroom in Rengumunda UP School under Jamankira police limits of Sambalpur district.
Reportedly, the pistol was found during the cleaning of the classroom.
The Assistant Teacher named Gobind Bhoi occupied two classrooms. He lived in one of the classrooms and used another as a kitchen.
However, he has been transferred on March 4 following which the Cluster Resource Center Coordinator (CRCC) ordered him to vacate the classroom to resume studies of children.
Earlier on Saturday, the school staff found the pistol during the cleaning of the classroom and informed Headmaster Lakhsmikant Bagh. The same was also informed to the CRCC.
It is suspected that a former Assistant Teacher of the school had the pistol.

It is noteworthy to mention that police will begin a probe to ascertain if Assistant Teacher Gobind Bhoi owned the pistol.
